We went on a group outing to Banerghatta Zoo

This elephant was very obliging, but then I don't think that's an ankle bracelet he's wearing...

This tiger was having a bath

We made garlic naan

It was a bit floury - I think we need to cook it for longer

Brilliant experiments

Tidge is doing a course with the BRILLIANT Cloud Mentor organisation which aims to widen the horizons of children in India anf stimulate inventive thought. On the first day, he made a multi-coloured flashing torch and a wind-powered car.  Next week, he will learn what being a doctor involves, and will make a stethoscope.

We tried a bit of Indian cooking today

The gobi manchuri wasn't much like gobi manchuri but it was really tasty.  The Dhal looks like runny dog poo, the saghu we threw straight in the bin after this photo.  The poori were the best and Tidge made those from scratch.

Government's work is God's work

So there you have it...
Interestingly, this (vast) government building, called Vidhana Soudha, and built in the 1960s,was considered so splendid that in 2005 they decided to build another one (Vikasa Soudha) right next door.  Sadly they got the Vastu Shastra wrong (Feng Shui in ...er, English), so the building apparently remains largely unused. I don't really know if that's true, but the newer building doesn't look very loved or lived in.
